A
graduate of the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at the College of William
and Mary, Thomas Rock has extensive experience as a trial lawyer in
Virginia. He began trying cases while still in law school at the James
City County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office where he prosecuted
domestic violence cases. He then went on to work at the Loudoun County
Public Defender’s Office where he defended hundreds of indigent clients
accused of crimes ranging from simple assault to murder.
Upon
leaving
the
Public
Defender’s
Office,
Mr. Rock established his law firm
in Leesburg, Virginia. From the beginning, his goal has been to develop
a firm that meets each of its client’s needs as individuals. In
recognizing the unique problems that each of his clients face, Mr. Rock
is able to work with them to identify and achieve the necessary
solutions to those problems.
Mr.
Rock devotes over 50% of his practice to criminal and traffic defense.
He regularly appears in courts throughout Virginia on behalf of his
clients. In his criminal defense practice, he has represented those
accused of a wide variety of crimes including: assault, larceny, drug
offenses, DUI and DWI, reckless driving, weapons offenses, violent
felonies, bad checks, forgery and fraud. Mr. Rock also has extensive
experience providing criminal defense to juveniles.
In
addition to criminal defense, Mr. Rock has an active civil practice in
which he represents individuals and businesses on a variety of matters
including: contract disputes, landlord/tenant, collections, and family
law. Mr. Rock is also a founding member of the Loudoun County Drug
Court Program where he works with representatives from various local
agencies and the Loudoun County Circuit Court to help long time addicts
overcome their addictions to drugs and alcohol. In addition, he is a
member of the Loudoun County chapter of Beat the Odds, an organization
that works to provide scholarships to high school students who have
overcome adversity in their lives.
Mr.
Rock is licensed to practice law in all courts in Virginia.
